Mauricio Handler is one of the industries
leading underwater photography instructors and a respected
expedition leaders.
For the past eight years, Mr. Handler
has been teaching underwater photography to students
from all over the world through his SLR housed systems
workshops which are held in exotic land based destinations
as well as aboard the finest diving vessels worldwide.
Handlers goal is to bring to each one of his students
the knowledge and unique vision in his photography
acquired in the field while working with National Geographic
and through his own assignments, empowering them with
the tools to create individual and fresh images.
These workshops are intended for housed systems
users of all levels, serious amateur as well as professionals
wanting to advance their underwater image making skills
in both film and digital media. It is an intense week
in which up to five hours of underwater time per day
is required together with daily lectures and open image
critiques. Personal one on one time with Mr.Handler
is essential. Lecture subjects include: natural, strobe
and mixed lighting photography, wide, splits, macro
and extreme macro as well as strong emphasis on composition
and aesthetics. Equipment maintenance and field repair
is also covered together with basic photoshop and effective
image workflow.
This workshop will catapult you to a
new level in image-making. This is not a point and
shoot week.
Handler will reveal many techniques brought in
from the field, that when combined properly make an
award-wining image a reality.

Workshop Pre-requisite:
Must own a housed SLR system (digital or film),
arms and strobes. All students are required to have
